Doomscroller
- My Roles
- Programming, custom textures, level design, sound editing
- What did you learn from this assignment?
- I increased my skills with particle effects, primarily with my wave of dislikes at the bottom of the screen, it took a lot of time to get what I was going for, but I believe it paid off.
- My dynamic camera system works well. (scrolling/tracking player and when to do either) I learned how specific I need to be with setting certain conditions and all the storing and setting of variables for keeping track of information.
- Use more variables. This is the big takeaway. I need to truncate my code with the use of more variables rather than having long lines of code that are harder to read.
- What makes this game unique?
- The mechanics are quite standard, but I think the theme is unique. i haven't seen too many social media themed games, maybe because they're too meta.
- Controls
W/Space/Up to jump
AD/Arrows for left/right movement
Reach the power button to win (or continue on as you please)
Avoid enemies and the rising wave of dislikes
